I grew up sailing sabots in Newport Harbor when I was 8 years old. At about 13 or 14 years old I began sailing Laser Full Rigs for fun and friendly competitions. After playing volleyball for many years, I finally switched over to sailing on the Corona del Mar HS team. I earned my Varsity letter my first year on the team, despite never having sailed CFJs before. I like to say I’m a quick learner. I then proceeded to be recruited by the head coach of the Cornell University Women’s Varsity Sailing Team. At Cornell, I gained more CFJ racing practice and began to learn C420 sailing.
I have coached at BYC for 4 summers now and then I took over the Junior Sailing Administrator position (now Junior Sailing Directors Assistant). I have an immense passion for sailing and coaching and I hope to share my love of sailing with all of the kiddos that I coach!
