This weekend we have the final sessions for the Fall Program 2022!
Below is an update on what’s on over the Winter and information on our Spring Program.

Dec 10th/11th
Even though the Fall program has finished this will be a busy weekend with our C420s away for a Perry Series and at BYC we are hosting A High Performance ILCA Clinic and an Advanced Opti Clinic. More info here https://www.balboayachtclub.com/Juniors/Clinics

Dec 17th/18th
BYC is hosting the Winter Cup Match Racing Regatta. Team BYC will be represented by Siena Nichols, Maddie Nichols, Lilli Brennan and Eddie Kliem. They will race against a NHYC Team and a LBYC Team. Follow the regatta here: https://www.balboayachtclub.com/Juniors/Regattas

Pre-Spring program:
- Shadden 3/4 for the CFJs is January 14th – San Diego Yacht Club
- Sabot North Series 3/4 is January 21st/22nd – Newport Harbor Yacht Club ( we may run a session the weekend before)

We will start up our Spring program January 21st/22nd and run through until the end of May.
The program will run like our fall program. It will be weekends only with on land Wednesday until March 12th. After March 12th we will add back in after school sessions. All regattas for your class in SoCal are included in the Spring Program. When a class has a regatta will not be run that weekend at BYC. The program will not run Easter weekend.

Learn to Sail/Race:
We will be running Learn to Sail level 1 for all ages this Spring .Our Learn to Sail is run in BYC club boats. This program and our Learn to Race level 2 will be running from the week of March 12th until late May.

Sabots:
Pre-March 12th – Saturdays 2pm-5pm
Post March 12th – Tuesdays and Thursdays 4pm-7pm
All regattas included
No sessions will run April 11th-18th and May 9th-14th.

Optis:
Pre-March 12th – Saturdays 11am-5pm
Post March 12th – Fridays 4pm-7pm and Saturdays 11am-5pm
All regattas in SoCal are included. We will look to send a coach to Valentine’s Day regatta and Team trials but this will come at an addition cost.
We will run a clinic April 22nd/23rd
We will support local clinics
No sessions will run April 11th-18th and May 9th-14th.

ILCA:
Pre-March 12th – Sundays 11am-5pm
Post March 12th – Mondays 4pm-7pm and Sundays 11am-5pm
We will run a clinic April 29th/30th
All SoCal regattas are included.
We will look to do Midwinters East and potentially US Opens but these will be an additional cost.
We will have a break March 27th-returning April 23rd. This is because we have a big block Jan-March and the Spring program roles straight into the summer program. We will miss May 14th for Opening day.

Double Handed Programs (Race and Development):
Pre-March 12th – Sundays 11am-5pm
Post March 12th – Mondays 4pm-7pm and Sundays 11am-5pm
All SoCal double handed regattas.
No sessions will run April 11th-18th and May 9th-14th.
I420 opportunities

Match Race Program:
Pre-March 12th – Saturdays 11am-5pm
Post March 12th – Fridays 4pm-7pm and Saturdays 11am-5pm
Entry to the program will be by application only. We will select sailors.
The program will apply for entry to Dickson Cup, Rose Cup, Governors Cup and Cal Dreaming (San Diego)
There will be no session April 1st (Soda clinic that weekend)
There will be no session April 14th/15th (Easter)
There will be no session May 12th/13th (Opening Day)

Ocean Racing:
Every Sunday we have a session we will run Ocean Racing for Optis/ILCA/C420s in the Ocean
2:30pm start
2 races a Sunday
The series will be scored
Sailors not in our program can race. They will pay $20 a session

Twilights:
Sabot/ILCA/C420s/CFJ can participate in twilight racing in May-August
Wednesdays 6pm start
